Gigre?
Is this a name, or is there any meaning behind it? I want to use it for a female character, (pronounced gEE-gray) (hard gs) and I was wondering if there were any connotations with it that I'm unaware of?

It reminds me of the words 'gig' 'giggle' and 'tigre'.
I think it's a very rare surname.
It also appears to be a word in Catalan, the meaning of which is obscure to me...

I've never seen it before, but it reminds me immediately of H.R. Giger (gee-ger, hard gs), whose art is rather famous.

So I get a sort of ... theatrical gothy vibe from it, if it were found as a creative name. Kinda like Draven or Crowleigh as a name.
