I prefer Alexander, however, Alessandro is really nice. I've never known anyone with this name, however, I do know someone who married a man from Italy and they named their ds Alessandro. They call him Sandro which is so unexpected in the US.

Sounds very Italian but a nice name, as well as Alejandro. Alessandra is nice as well, I think Alessandro sounds less stiff then Alexander.

Fresh? Not at all. Very common within the Italian community here. I don't like it and don't like Alexander either,

Alessandro in the Top3 for newborns since 1999 (at least!). It is really overused.
