Haven???
Which gender would you use this name for? I have had people say they can only see it being used for a boy and then others say only for a girl and then some say for either. Which would you use it for? Also What are some middle names for it? I was thinking something mystical but not sure! Give me all the suggestions you can think of! Feel free to use 2 MN combo's as well! All suggestions are welcomed!

My husband's niece and her husband named their second girl Haven Shalom. The older girl is Kaylyn mn (can't remember).

Thank you! I think Haven Shalom is sweet. And I have a friend that named her daughter Kalyn which she pronounces it the same. :)

I actually like it for both. I know that sounds weird.

Nope.I've personally known more men with the name then women, although that is changing.

I only associate it with girls. That's for one reason: a celebrity named her daughter Haven. I think it was Jessica Alba. I have never heard of anyone else with this name. I don't like the sound of it at all.

I rather like that, by the information you've informed us, either gender can use this name. So why not use the name for either gender, simply because you like it.
Haven Marie / Haven Maria (boy or girl)Haven James (boy or girl)Haven Drew (Drue) - boy or girlHaven Prue (Prew) - boy or girl
***I'd advocate naming a boy Drew (Drue) or **especially Prue (Prew)--not so much the more formal Drusilla or Priscilla, Pruelle, Pruella or Prunella: yet I rather like Nell (Nells) for a boy - yet find no reason for a more formal version--yet why not, especially if it is a middle name - and a double barreled middle name to boot. Yet - if Prunella is for a girl, why not Prunell (Prunelle) for a boy?
If Matilda is "girl" - why not Mathilde for a "boy"? Haven Prue Mathilde ___ for a boyHaven Drue Priscilla ___ for a girlCould or should the name "Constance" perhaps some other format be added?Haven Elisha (there are numerous formats or versions including but not limited to spelling variations for Elisha - from Elizabeth, to Eli, to Eliza, to Ethan, to Bethany...)For short names - and for combos derived from natural short namesAve Maria (as Abigail has Abbe - or - Abraham has Abe): you can differentiate between pronunciations at will. Though I smile as I write this - why not??These are just stems of ideas that you can develop or ignore to the extent of your interest.
