I love Veronica with a one-syllable or two-syllable surname because I dislike overly-long names.

Most one-syllable middles that don't start with R, N, K, C, or J would probably be ok, if they are names I like otherwise (and dependent on surname, of course).

If the surname is one syllable, I would be fine with a 2-syllable middle name. Probably trochaic. I think iambs sound awkward after Veronica. Example, Veronica Laurel (Laurel is a trochee) sounds pretty; Veronica Denise sounds awkward (Denise is iambic). I also wouldn't choose a middle name that ends with schwa like Veronica does. Other trochees I like with Veronica:
