I'd much rather go back to the Latin and name her Cara - if necessary, short for Caritas! Charity sounds uncomfortable, more like donating unwanted/unusable stuff to the deserving poor than its original meaning of (non-sexual) love.
And then there's Dickens, who took one of his most unpleasant, hypocritical characters and gave him daughters named Charity and Mercy, nicknamed respectively Cherry and Merry!

I like Charity!
It has a warm, sweet sound and meaning. I associate it with the red colour.
I prefer it over Caridad but only because I came across a bad fictional character with that name. Previously I use to like it too.
Carità (Italian form) is not a given name at all here. Maybe because 'Caritas' is one of the most famous Italian Catholic charity organizations.
