Amzi
Wdyto Amzi? Pronounced AM-zie...zie rhymes with 'eye'.What would you assume about Amzi's parents?Does it remind you of any other names? What would you pair it with?

It's interesting and I've never seen it before. That eye sound makes me think of Levi and Eli (with their American pronunciations) so I'm guessing probably American, possibly Jewish, possibly some sort of fundamentalist Christian... *looks it up on wikipedia* and possibly a family name: the first bearer listed was named after another Amzi, and unusual names often run in families. I don't like names with the eye ending much, so I'd prefer it as am-tzee.

Yeah, I only came across it because it's in my family tree...it reminds me of names like Esai, Hezekiah, Kai, Ezra, Enoch. I can't decide if it sounds antiquated or trendy.

Well, antiquated biblical names are a trend, so it's both! But that would be a plus, for anyone wanting to use it - it wouldn't feel really out of place on a modern kid, while still being striking and unusual. It's a neat find.

Hi !!!I dislike its spelling.
I would prefer Amtzi or Amtzai. I assume that parents are Jewish or strickly 'Puritan' being this name so rare.It is similar to Hamza and Zalmai.I prefer other short names.. Tzvi for example.
