I like Wilfred and I'd expect it to be shortened to Wilf, because it traditionally is here, in much the same way that Alfreds are usually Alf/Alfie and not Al. I also think that if he starts off as Wilf, then the chances of him staying Wilf are fairly high. But, and I don't know if this matters to you, it's possible that Wilfred might get fairly popular. I've come across a few, and it's in the UK top 200 and rising: not sure how much that affects the Aussie charts.

Percival is a lot more distinctive and different, in the same way that Theodora is - neither of them are in the charts here - so I do think they match better in that sense. I'd rather see Percival nn Percy than Percy alone, though. Percy is fine, but maybe I just dig the hunky handsome knight thing. :)
