BA
A tiny baby girl was baptized at my church today. Her name is Ayzlin Raine. The first name is pronounced AZZ-lin, with the "a" as in apple.
WDYT of this name? Honesty, please.

I don't mind it. It does confuse me over the pronunciation though, as I would expect something spelled Ayz to be pronounced with a long a like in daze, not azz like in jazz. They're different sounds but it also seems a little repetitive with Raine in the middle. Plenty of other sounds out there for some variety!
I expected the same pronunciation of Ayzlin, but I was wrong.
I like Raine. Ayzlin sounds pleasant enough to the ears but it is a made up name to me and I wonder how the parents came up with it.
I like it; I've never known this name previously.
It's original.
Which means that, to my knowledge, her parents are alone in thinking it sounds and/or looks even slightly attractive. And if they wanted it to sound like Azlin, why stick a superfluous y in?
Comment on report: Can do better.

Hi !!!
Ayzlin Raine?
Ayzlin is horrible.
I know a similar-trend nane which is Jazmin. Both not my style at all.
Instead I like a name with a similar sound: Alizée, a French feminine name related with a kind of wind. I find it very feminine, sweet but also modern.
I prefer Reina or Reine to Raine. Even Rain is better imo. The only Raine I notice is Princess Diana's stepmother.

Well, it's unlikely, certainly, but not too bad. I would have pronounced it As-lin, without your direction.
And Raine, with an "e", is ok. Not a name I would have used, but I'm outstandingly conservative with my own kids' names. Anyone else's-fine! :-)

I think the first name is ugly both in sound and looks. It looks like medicine for an upset stomach or something, and sounds like somebody who has bad teeth trying to say Ashlyn.
Rain is okay but feels kind of cliched.
Ashlyn Rain would have been an improvement.

Anytime one has to decipher a pronunciation that’s a bad thing, imo. Also, the “Azz” “ass” thing is unfortunate.
Rainer isn’t my style but not awful.
