I like it, but not as much as I used to.
SEE-las is at least as good as SY-las, if not better. I think it's fine to use them interchangeably. If the kid has a preference he can pick one, or he can just use both (I know some people who use interchangable pronunciations like Sara/Sarah, Ana/Anna, etc. and it's not too confusing.)
