Camilla
Thoughts on Camilla? Does it remind you too much of the wife of Prince Charles?

From an English persons perspective, yes it reminds me too much of the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla.
It's not a great association for me but without that I generally don't like the sound either. I prefer Camille (cah-MEEL) it's smoother and softer.

Not really. I don't follow the lives of the British royal family.I probably associate it most with chamomile (calm) and Priscilla (prim). I'd contrast it to Camille (Camilla seems cold, in comparison) and Camellia (Camilla seems bland, in comparison).I like Cam and Milla but not Milly. I think it's nice, overall, but don't feel strongly about it.

I like it and find it quite elegant, although neither of the Camillas I've known would really fit that description! One's Norwegian and the other is English.
The Duchess of Cornwall is probably the most famous Camilla, but I'm not really reminded of her, any more than Charles makes me think of her husband.

I only know one Camilla in real life and she goes exclusively by Milly (aged 27) or Mills to really close friends.I am British and I do think of he Duchess of Cornwall, but not enough for it to bother me. It's a bit like how Harry will make me think of Prince Harry, but it's not an exclusive name like Elvis.

I don't particularly think about Prince Charles and his personal life; Camilla seems to make him happier than Diana ever did, but that's nothing to do with the name. Come to think of it, my issue with both Camilla and Diana is the possibility of Millie and Di as nns. Both names have impeccable classical pedigrees and both sound good, but only when used in full.

It's my mom's name, and very common in her generation. It has never been a favorite, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the name. I don't think of Prince Charles at all - maybe because it's such a common name here.
