Jacob
How long do you think it will take before Jacob becomes dated?
What are your thoughts on it in general?

I don't think it will ever become too dated, it's a good strong, standard boys name to me
I think it’s a forever name. It’ll go up and down, but it will always be there.
That being said, I really dislike the sound. The “ayk” sound is so unpleasant.

i've honestly never met a Jacob in person, or at least not one i remember. i've heard of millions of Jakes in media, though.
so it isnt tired or boring to me at all like many common names. i'd use it if it werent so high in the charts and wasn't so close to my partner's name (maybe a middle name though?) i love the -cob ending, it's endearing.

I'm sort of torn between "its already becoming dated (to 1995-2010ish)" to "never, it's classic". I'm leaning slightly more toward "never, it's classic" but I'm not sure if that's bias because I like it. But, it has never been out of the top 400, even though it's #of birth and percentages charts are big triangles.
I like it and have for years. I don't like Jake at all though and think it's pretty unavoidable, so it's a middle-name-only name for me.
