I love SWAT and Deke!

It reminds me of names like: Dean, Bishop, Christian, Roman (Catholic), Baptiste, Clark.

Since it's a word, I wouldn't use it unless you relate to the definition in a positive way.

There's something vaguely sexy about it. I don't dislike it, but I think that only a certain kind of man could pull it off.

I think it's totally tacky and weird when people use religious titles as first names.

I disliked it for a few reasons but then i've got a kid at school named Deakon who is a pain so I dislike it more.
The religious connotations ruin it for me.

Its a very theological name, so if you're an atheist or against theology names I might stay away. It would be akin to naming your kid Preacher or Bishop.

Besides that, its okay. Not my favorite name. I don't like the nickname Deek, but some people do.

I hate it. I am Catholic and that probably plays into it a lot, but it is like naming your child Monk or Nun, or Priest. I guess surnames and occupational names are in right now... still it just seems off. Deac- isn't a very attractive sound either.
