I love them for pets! Especially for a pair of cats. They're a little less usable for humans but you might be able to pull off Taiga in the right combo.

Do you like either of these words as names?
I had never considered them before. I really like the idea of Taiga. Tundra is a little clunkier to me. I think I like them both for boys more than for girls.

Taiga for sure. Man, I really like it! It looks and sounds very cool and interesting to me. Definitely seems namey.

As people have already written, these names would be perfect for two Siberian huskies! For two girls...I don't know.
Taiga would probably sound strange in many English dialects, and she would get: "Did you say Tiger?" And the Tundra is a world of snow, ice and freezing temperatures...
Taiga is listed among the submitted names as a "rare Finnish name", but I don't know if it's really used in Finland.

I actually knew someone named Taiga as a child, she was a really cool artsy person. She was adopted from an orphanage in Russia and that was the name that they gave her there, though, so I have no idea if it's actually a *good* name (other people adopted out of orphanages among my acquaintance group have tended to get stuck with really crappy names i.e. "big mouth" or "unwanted").

I quite like Tundra now I come to think of it. I'm not a fan of Meadow or Prairie, but if those two are in common use, I can't see that these two are any worse

As someone who lived in Alaska for a long time, I find them really kitschy. Like McKinley and Denali.

Neither of them appeal to me much - the concepts are nicer than the sounds - but I think they're more usable than a lot of other words that happen as names, e.g. names of guns.
I've seen Taiga in BAs, and it looks like it's used in other languages: https://www.behindthename.com/name/taiga/submitted - so I'd pick that, move to Japan and call it a Japanese name :)

Taiga sounds too much like Tiger for me. Tundra is kind of pretty, but I associate it with Toyota trucks.

They sound like names for Siberian husky puppies, tbh. I wouldn't use them on a human, at least as FNs, but if I had to choose I'd go with Taiga as it's the less commonly used word of the two.

No, they don't make good people names. Tundra's already been used for a vehicle.
They would make good names for polar bears in a zoo.

I guess if you put a gun to my head and ordered me to choose, and I was not 100 percent sure you'd actually pull the trigger, I'd choose Taiga. However, my understanding is it's pronounced Ty-ga, which just sounds like a New Yorker talking about a tiger. Taiga the Tiger?
