love it! really gentle sounding name with a lot of meaning and history. i just don't like the nickname Joe (would it be used for this name?), and i feel like it's gonna get super popular soon.

It's ok for others. I don't like it much for my own use. It seems less strong and more nerdy to me.

I love it. I would definitely consider it for my own child, if I was living in the US.

Is there some particular reason it's unusable in Germany?

Love it! A fave of mine and a name I would consider using.

I wouldn't personally use it, but I think it's sweet.

Sounds whiney, and the obvious namesake was the dreariest and least successful prophet imaginable, as well as being a byword for failure and bad luck. There are many better ways of achieving a son known as Joe.

I love the name Jonah. So sweet and cheerful.

I met a kid, maybe 5th grade, a few years ago named Jonah. I think before then I didn't know what to think about the name, no real opinion. The kid was pretty cool though so it's a good association and now it's pleasing. Can't say I'd use it, agree it's a tad biblical. But I'd be happy to meet another

I love it. (-:

I think it is handsome. The feminine form Yonina is also pretty.

Too biblical for me.

Too fishy/whaley for me, but cute enough sound wise.

I've always really disliked it. I think it's because it sounds quite feminine, like the name Joan with a further feminizing A at the end, and I've never even liked Joan.

Oh...huh, I'm probably associating it with Joni (Joan) Mitchell plus the names Johan and Josiah.

I get mixed vibes from it...like, maybe his dad is a conservative businessman, and his mom is a granola folk singer. Also it sounds kind of 80s/90s to me. I imagine Jonah wearing a WWJD bracelet. Beyond that, it just seems ordinary/biblical, but if I wanted an ordinary/biblical Jo name, I'd pick Joseph.

Nope.
Too whiney and 'whaley'. Jonathan is so much better.

I really like it! I knew two from school, one of whom I had a major crush on haha :P Unfortunately, he turned out to be a âsshole but whatever. Live and learn I suppose. It didn't effect my view on the name.I gave this name to one of my major characters with "Joey" as a seldom nickname (:
