Also, years ago, my husband worked with a woman whose name was Lucy. That is, Lucy was her middle name and what she went by. She hated her first name so much that she refused to use it and also refused to divulge to my husband what it was. Until finally, somehow, he found out. Yes, you guessed it. It was Thelma. So once he found out, he walked into work one day and said to her, "Hi, Thelma!" She looked at him and said, "Get the hell out."
Anyway, no love for Thelma here. I don't blame Lucy one bit.
