Lydia
A recent favorite of mine, I think Lydia would be a refreshing comeback. It’s old, but not musty sounding. WDYT?“Whatever you are, be a good one.”

Lydia is popular right now. It has a variant, Lyda, that needs to become popular again.

It was #61 here when I was born and I’ve known a fair amount of Lydia’s so I don’t really get the refreshing part. I think of it more as a classic, if a slightly more uncommon one. Lydia Bennet is a fun association, though I know a lot of people don’t like her much.

I love it; it's on my list of names I'd give to a daughter. Only thing that concerns me is the popularity; it's in the top 100 :(

Oh my gosh, I adore the name Lydia!!!This was THE name I wanted to use for a daughter but since a sister of mine named her daughter, "Sylvia" back in January, I'm afraid that the name is off the table. ); Though perhaps I could use it as a middle name? Way easier said than done with coming up with combinations. If it isn't meant to be, guess I could always give this name to a future cat or character. I just want to give this gorgouse and classic name to someone or something!!10\10 stars. Lydie would be an adorable nickname.

Why does Sylvia mean you can’t use Lydia? I understand they’re similar but they’re not too similar for cousins imo!

Well in my opinion, I think they are too similar for cousins. Besides, I wouldn't want to seem like I was being a total copy cat. I could always use it as a middle name if I ever end up having a daughter so there might still be a twinge of hope there.

I love it, but it's already come back and it's already starting to sound not so refreshing. Friends of ours used it about nine years ago.

I'm loving Lydia at the moment. I do prefer Lilia but the popularity of Lily and Lily-names is driving me kind of crazy so I've been leaning on Lydia a little. The Bible character is a positive association and I enjoyed the name (if not so much the character) in Pride and Prejudice, particularly the NN Lyddie. I think it has a beautiful sound and is underused =)

Well, Lydia is in the top 100 USA. I think it fits with all the Olivia and Sophias of late. Definitely a sweet name, but strikes me a tad impetuous.

I love Lydia, I think just in sound alone she’s so bright and fresh.

I love it too - and it anxiously awaits every pending assignment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyLhLT97uDASoftly sweet, in Lydian measures,
Soon he soothed his soul to pleasures:
War, he sung, is toil and trouble;
Honour, but an empty bubble;
Never ending, still beginning,
Fighting still, and still destroying:
If the world be worth thy winning,
Think, O think it worth enjoying;
Lovely Thais sits beside thee,
Take the good the gods provide thee...

I think Lydia is so pretty. Classic and sweet, yet strong and kind of punchy at the same time. In need of a comeback imo.
