BA DN name is...
Aaron Patrick
Patrick is the father's mn too
My brother, the father, loves baseball. All his options were baseball related. DN was born yesterday but it took my SIL a while to choose from a couple name. They weren't talking to anyone else so not sure what other choices they had. (For non-baseball fans, I automatically thought Hank Aaron, a great player from the 50s-70s.) Her choice in the end but he got a baseball-related name.
I think they did well, I'm loving it but want to see if I'm bias.
ETA: my brother's other choices were Derek and Eric. My SIL had a few others he won't tell me.

Aww congrats, it's lovely! Very classic. I love the baseball association too :)
I love both names and they sound really nice together. Congrats to your family :)
It’s really nice! Sound flows well, meaning / history is positive, and it will suit someone of any age. Perfect!
I agree on popularity. It's a name that's never really been on my radar. I only knew one growing up though, a guy in my class from K-12. So I certainly think if him. I figured they'd go with something popular and classic though, just their personalities.
My youngest sister was the same. She has four girls, and refused to say a word about what names were being considered and what was finally chosen until they were born. She said this was because she wanted to present the world with the baby, saying, "This is (Name)", rather than have the name floating around before anyone had met the baby, because then it's like the baby becomes the name, rather than bestowing a name upon the baby. If you can make sense of that. I don't know if everyone can.
It makes sense. I'm not really sure what their reason was. My brother told everyone right away not to ask. Anyone who asked would get their own name as an answer.
I like your sisters reasoning. I also think I'd rather decide for myself rather than everyone trying to sway me one way or another.

I always like when people don't share the baby's name before it's born because I like being surprised, lol. Same for gender!
Of course, a lot of people who know me already know my favorite names... So I probably can't surprise them too much when the time comes
