I love Leon and prefer it to Leo. Leon is a little softer and Leo just feels like a name for a lion in a kids book to me (although of course Leon is just as leonine!). It feels pretty solidly middle namey to me, although I'd be happy to see it in the first name spot.

I like it because of Trotsky, my favorite politician. I prefer Lev though. Maybe a first name, I guess.

I don't really care for Leon although I knew one once. He was an older gentleman at my church, so kind, so full of integrity. He made me like the name Leon a bit more although I much prefer Leo.
