Geneva

I like it, but I greatly prefer Ginevra.
I used to have a co-worker named Geneva. I think I remember wondering if her family was Swiss or not.
I feel like it's a cross between Genevieve and Verona, stylistically, and it has a nice enough sound. I like Genevieve more, just because I prefer Eve to Eva.

Geneva Convention
This. I think of people reciting name, rank, and serial number and rules regarding war crimes.
Sound wise it's alright, but the association here is strong.

Is it really? I really like this name and would like to use it on a character sometime. Seems like every other name I like is getting shot down by strongly negative associations! Harper with the harping thing, and now Geneva with this Geneva Convention thing.

Any name can be ruined by an association for someone, some for more people than others, but never for everyone.
I just mean I don't like it because of that. I don't think it's inherently a bad name, and I would have no issues with a character named that, because even though that's my association, it's an entirely believable name.
I thought it was too much a city-name, until I met a girl named Geneva. Then it just seemed really like a first name, probably because the jen sound is so familiar. I like the eeva ending, that makes it antique in an appealing way - but it's not as snooty as Eva. I feel the opposite of Felie ... Genevieve sounds way more posh than Geneva, to me.
Hi !!!
This name seems only a posh form of Geneviève to my ears. I can see the appeal but I prefer its full form.
I rate it 7/10.
