Ainsley for a girl
I maybe shouldn’t ask this as it might be a tad contentious, but since I’ve mentioned it a few times in the Wesley thread and I think it’s come up a few times recently, I might as well.
What do you think of Ainsley / Ainslie as a girls’ name? If you had to use it as a girls’ name (if you really don’t want to, pretend it’s life or death), what middle name(s) would you pair with it?
Thanks!

I have an Aussie cousin called Ainsley. We've never met, but for years there was always a Christmas card from her family with this really unusual name in it - little me assumed it was an Australian name, & I think it might have been popular there at the time? So anyway, yup, for me it works fine as a girl's name, although it's nms.
Ainsley Julia (I think that's her mn) or maybe Juliet
Ainsley Victoria
Ainsley Elena
Ainsley May
Ainsley Isobel
Ainsley Eve
Ainsley Francesca
Ainsley Wren

I know Winslet Lucinda is a typo, but it’s oddly charming!

Ainsley Rosalind
Ainsley Guinevere has a real kick to it. Ainsley Rosalind is very charming.
Honestly it seems surname enough to me that it falls in easily with all the other -let names that are used on girls. John had a friend, a girl, named Ainsley in our last city. She would be almost 4.
Ainsley Temperance
Ainsley Virginia
Ainsley Ceridwen
Ainsley Dolores
Ainsley Georgina
Ainsley Jocasta
Ainsley Lourdes
If I had to do a boy Ainsley Alaric

Ainsley Georgina in particular is very sweet. Ainsley Alaric is great, though!
It’s not a favorite but I do get the appeal of it. To me it conjures about imagery of autumn, bright orange leaves and chilly gray mornings. A real person named Ainsley would be friendly and bubbly and athletic.
For a combo I would go with Ainsley Carine.

I get a kind of autumnal feel from it too. Ainsley Carine is a very orange combo, haha.
Ainsley Willow or Ainsey Eden
I used to love this name. It has always struck me as feminine, I cannot imagine this on a man. Don't care for it either way, though.

Ainsley Willow works very well!
I've only ever known two people with the name and both were women that went to my college. Because of those associations, it's hard for me to see it as a name for a man.

I used to be friends with a girl called Aynsley! Not my favourite name, but it grows on you.
What do you think about Ainsley Mairead?

Ainsley Mairead is really interesting, I like it!
I just think of the chef Ainsley Harriott.
It's so nasally that I really dislike it on either gender.
Ainsley Harriet (I joke, I joke)
Ainsley Maria
Ainsley Olivia
Ainsley Paige
Ainsley Rhiannon
Ainsley Demetria
Ainsley Justine
Ainsley Francesca
Ainsley Amandine
Ainsley Cora
Ainsley Eve
Ainsley Miranda
Ainsley Veronica
Ainsley Winona
Ainsley Beth
Ainsley June
Ainsley Adele
Ainsley Fiona
Eta: Ainsley Robin
Life or death situation I'd call her Ainsley Justine 'AJ'. I really like AJ on a girl. It's ot the unisex factor I dislike, I really dislike the sound of Ainsley!

Say what you like, Ainsley Harriet flows very well, haha.
Ainsley Rhiannon, Ainsley Beth, Ainsley Miranda, Ainsley June, and Ainsley Robin are all great.

I don't like it. I don't like the sound-- I was going to say I don't like the ayn sound but I have Zayn on my list. But I think ayn combined with zlee is just uck. For a boy too. Bleh all around. I'm not opposed to unisex (I think name trends are heading that way), but this one is nms. I think it sounds more feminine than masculine though.
If I had to use it...
Ainsley Lenore
Ainsley Sunaina
Ainsley Cerys

I do sometimes wonder if the sound is a little off, but I’ve always been fond of it. Ainsley Lenore is great, and Sunaina is really interesting so thanks for sharing it!
This is one of my least favorite names for either gender... the 'ain' sound is just awful to me and it sounds trendy/made up (I know it has legitimate history, but the -sley ending reminds me of made up names like Tinsley etc). If it was a life or death situation, I'd probably go with something like Ainslie Alice and call her Alice! Not sure if that's cheating though haha
I've only ever heard it as a girls' name.
I don't like the sound. The meaning is okay.
I would pick a middle that resonates with the meaning, to me, because that's what I like about it.
Ainsley Khione
Ainsley Halcyon
Ainsley Frida
Ainsley Raina
Ainsley Ventura
Ainsley Miranda
Ainsley Jessamine
Ainsley Oreithyia
Ainsley Eliora
Ainsley Elowen
I'll go with Ainsley Ventura for now.
