It's not great, but it's not terrible either, its sort of a neutral name.
It's definitely masculine.
For some
I can picture a Blaine as an athlete, playing hockey, baseball, or American football. I can also picture a Blaine being a Rural/ small town realtors or working for a smalk town newspaper or something like that. It just feels like a small town/ Rural/ country kind of name. It'd be pretty cute on a baby and it's easy to imagine on an elderly man as well and every age in between which is always a plus.
It feels like a dated name to me even though it's not (its usage in the U.S. has been fairly consistent for nearly 100 years. I guess it just seems like a 70s/80s kind of name. Maybe because it has a similar feel to Bradley, Brent & Brett.
Over all its not a name I would use, but I wouldn't mind it on someone else's child.
