Re: Leia, Moriah, Mattea
Leia is pretty. The spelling suffers from association with Star Wars. But I like it anyway.
Moriah - I get a "serious" or reserved vibe, and a little old-fashioned or conservative. I picture a girl or woman who is very self-disciplined and quiet. It doesn't appeal to me as a favorite, but now that I try to imagine it on a girl I think I would like it as much as Mariah. It's nice.
I think Maria pronounced like Mariah is doable. I know a Leah pronounced Leia. People are trainable!
Mattea already bores me a little because of all the trendy forms of Matthew and the trendiness I perceive of Italian names. But it is very pretty and pleasant, I do like it.- mirfak

You might be right about Maria as Mariah but I actually also have a very close family friend named Maria and I think that would add to the confusion even more! How would you spell Leia otherwise? I don’t think I’d use Leah because I grew up with about a dozen of them.

I think Lea is the only other reasonable choice. People would still say Lee-a and maybe Lee, but whatever. Or you could use the French spelling, Léa. That might force them to say Leia.Leia is the spelling I'd favor.
