Virginia
Virginia is a name I loved as a teenager. I still think it's nice. Hopes for a comeback?

It’s a sweet, country (classy country, not hick country) name. Plus, it’s my home state, which I love.
Probably no hopes for any big comeback, because prudes see the word virgin in it.
Nobody seriously thinks about virginity when they hear the name Virginia. We hear the state name all the time.
I like it. Would use it, probably as a middle name though because I like other names more.

There's a whole world of people who don't live in the United States, though. Many on this board, myself included. So the state might not be our first association.
I love it, as well as Ginger and Ginny as nicknames. A high school friend of mine named a daughter this.
However, this is one of those names where you’d REALLY need to prep your daughter about inevitable teasing and bullying about her virginity. You’d also need to be prepared for the fact that people with word names often find themselves going to extremes where the word is concerned. A parent with a kid named Virginia might need to take extra care that their child has a healthy view of sex and relationships.

I just see Virgin. If I wanted Ginny I'd go with Genevieve or Geneva.
I like it in theory but I wouldn’t use it. It’s too long and I don’t like any of its nicknames.
