I like Elise due to the softer vowels; hence if my formal name were Alice (pronounced as in "Alice Cooper") - I'd push to be called Alissa among family & friends - or I might even ask that Alice be pronounced as a phonetic equivalent of Elise - which I would not consider too far a stretch.
