I really like Carla! It's one of those "contemporary classics" that are my favorite category of names. I'd imagine a Carla to be a mature, highly educated woman with a caring, open personality. A few combos that I think are nice:Carla Melisande
Carla Olivia
Carla Marietta
Carla Brooke

I've never seen the appeal. Nor have I ever seen the appeal of its more-recently-popular cousin, Carly and Carley and Karli and Karleigh and all those spelling variations, ad nauseum. It makes me think of a short, wisecracking, Italian-American waitress, because of "Cheers".

I like it pretty well, especially the c spelling. It has a no-nonsense, yet gentle feel to it.
However, I like Carly more. Carla feels quite a bit older than Carly.

I feel rather neutral towards the name. I definitely prefer it more than 'Carly\Karly etc though which sounds alright but come across as whiny and bratty sounding as well. Carla sounds more professional and will age far better.
I always think of Carla Espinosa haha! :P (A character from Scrubs)
