Re: Thoughts on Benedict
Well, it reminds me of Benedict Arnold, eggs benedict, Benedict Cumberbatch, the NN Ben, 'benedictine' (Saint Benedict), and 'strict'.So, like, what do you get when you add together: American Revolutionary War history, one of my favorite breakfast foods, the star of one of the only TV shows I bother to watch, one of my favorite common nicknames, monasteries (where some great herbal liquers are made), the patron saint of students (brother of Scholastica), and uncompromising adherence to principles? Someone I want to meet. I'd say it's a bit too straitlaced for me to consider using myself, though. I probably get that impression from the 'edict' part + the 18th century association.
