Isabelle
I am wondering what your opinion on the name Isabelle is. This has been one of my favourite names for years.

I love it too. It's not that common but also not an unheard of name that everyone would pronounce wrong.

It's beautiful. I prefer Isobel myself but either way Isabelle gets two thumbs up from me.

It's probably my least favourite spelling of it, but I like Isobel a lot.Other thoughts, it's very classic and elegant, won't date badly, suits any age and passes the judge/dr/professor/whatever test

Isabelle is ok. Isabel is better - but I'm biased ;)
Seriously though, Isabelle just has extra "frills" that aren't necessary in my opinion. Isabel is more elegant and beautiful because it's not "trying too hard".I prefer Isabelle to Elizabeth any day. On the other hand, I cannot stand Isabella.

I like it but much prefer Isobel.

If you use the French pronunciation and live in a place that's at least somewhat Francophone, then fine. But if you pronounce it like Isabel and use the -le for decoration, I don't see the point.I like Isabel well enough and Isobel very much more. I dislike Bella.

Love Isabelle (and Isobel). It’s elegant, has an unusual sound that makes it stand out (even though it’s not uncommon), and there’s lots of potential for nicknames.

I LOVE Isabel, but Isabelle just seems like gilding the lily.

I've never liked it. I honestly just think it's ugly. I find the syllable "Iz" ugly, and "belle", and "bella" too for that matter, heavy and clunky. I don't get the appeal.

It’s a nice enough name. It’s VERY popular though, and has been for a while. That would turn me off if it were a favourite of mine.

I think it’s decent. It’s really popular, but still a good, solid name with a strong meaning and history.

I love it. I wouldn't use it because of its popularity and the likelihood that it will be extremely dated in the not-too-distant future, but as far as sound goes, I think there are few names prettier than Isabelle. (I prefer Isabel.) I also love Annabel.

I like it and prefer it over the more popular, Isabella. Both gorgouse names though.
