Madison or Mackenzie (m)
Replies
Madison seems overdone and just so…bland for a child born today that it's automatically out. I also happen to live in a Madison county and see the name all the time so there's that too.
Mackenzie is my choice here. I like it's sound well enough but I'm not a fan of it's shape. I can't think of any acceptable spelling changes that would make it any more appealing to me though.

I think I'd probably go with Madison. It's not an easy choice. I'd rather be named Madison than Mackenzie, and that's really how I decided.
Mackenzie seems to me about ten years older than Madison - too dated to use now. Mackenzie is one of those tough-sounding surnamey doggie-names - like Murphy and Bailey. Madison sounds like a blend of Alison and Madeline, so it seems more like it could be a woman's first name, to me. I don't love it, and ten years ago I'd probably have picked Mackenzie because Madison was more annoying. But now, Mackenzie is more annoying.

I honestly wouldn't want choose either of these. They both mean "son of ..." so seem ironic on girls. They're also the kind of trendy, overused names that will sound ridiculously dated in 30 years or so.
If pushed -- I guess I'd say Madison, only because of the presidential connection. Only this spelling.

Mackenzie, because I like it better.
Mackenzie. Think it’s kinda cute.
I am not a fan of either but I prefer Mackenzie because Madison is so ugly, I mean it isn't the ugliest name but it is fairly bad. I dislike -son names and Madison was so popular but add in the whole Ashley Madison thing now the name becomes a bit cringey. I like the nn Kenzie and the nn Maddy/ Maddie but it comes down to Mackenzie being better than Madison for me. Both names feel very trendy, although Madison feels very East Coast while Mackenzie feels more Californian.

I’m torn. I want to pick Madison to honor myself simply because then there is at least a meaningful reason behind the pick. But I also wouldn’t want to make it confusing. I like the nn options better for Mackenzie (I’d use Mack or Macks) so I think it wins out
