I remember reading somewhere that Morgana/Morgan LeFey was originally a good character, ferrying Arthur to Avalon as he lay dying after the Battle of Camlann, but monks later did everything they could to villify her because she was a witch, though a good one, and a strong female to boot.

I like Morgana and Morgan. For Morgana, maybe the nn Gana (GAH-nah or GAN-ah). As an affectionate, passing nn, not like, for example, "I'm Caroline, but just call me Carrie." Hope I'm understandable. ^_^
