It definitely could have its place in literature: an ideal name for a sadistic queen in a fantasy story like Game of Thrones.
It also sounds like it could be a type of rock; a name I would have had to memorize (easily due to my grapheme-color synesthesia; it comes in handy for remembering these types of names) in psychical geology.
It reminds me of the word venereal, though, given similar syllable distributions.
I wouldn't be comfortable using it because it honestly does sound too much liked a wicked fantasy character, but these combos please me best given my aesthetic preferences:

Varinia Margaret
Varinia Marguerite
Varinia Mary
