Logan
Haven't been posting on the BtN forums, but the recent controversy around Logan Paul, his 'Suicide Forest' video and his Japan vlogs got me thinking about this name.
It is relatively popular throughout the English-speaking world at the moment, though probably past the peak, but I wanted to pass this question off: will the popularity of Logan as a name be negatively affected as a result?I have put up a poll as well (https://www.behindthename.com/polls/286326), but I am looking for some more detailed responses in this thread. My PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/149249

It's okay and always was moderately popular since it has many upon many associations, so Logan Paul maybe a famous Logan but he isn't the only one!

Probably not by much. It's a common enough name that most people will probably not immediately think of him.I actually associate the name with Logan Lerman more than Logan Paul, since I'm a fan of the former. I never liked Logan Paul anyway. Even before this video, he just rubbed me that wrong way (like a lot of YouTubers do). Now it gives me more reason to hate him.One thing I will admit is that Logan Paul fits the stereotype of the name Logan to a T. There was also a Logan on Zoey 101, and he was a jerk too.

Yes, Logan Reese was his name! Though he was jerk with a heart of gold so, plus him and Quinn were my OTP from the series!

Maybe for a few months in certain circles. But in all honesty I didn’t know who he was until I watched my favourite Youtuber react to his video. If I hadn’t watched it or seen his name everywhere recently (by which I mean Tumblr and YouTube lol), I don’t think I’d know who he is or what he’d done. I feel like the Wolverine connection will last longer, or at least I hope so.

It's a fine name, and it will sail right through the recent controversy. It's been popular for a while, so almost everybody will have a different, more positive association with it in their life.

A ton of people still have no idea who Logan Paul is even after this story (and good riddance) so I don't think it will have any effect on the popularity. I associate it with Wolverine, personally, and if anything I think the film from last year might lead more parents to choose it.

Love!Despite this negative association and the name's modern trend, I still very much like and admire it (:
Honestly, I would even consider using it if it weren't for me being so dead set on the name Cole for a boy. (I dislike the names together even if Logan were to be a middle name)
I've personally never been a fan of Jake and Logan Paul since day 1. Just feel like putting that out there.will the popularity of Logan as a name be negatively affected as a result? My response: I hope not. But if it happens, ah well. Still a nice name in my book. One of my top favorites
