I live in Finland and yes, Ronja is quite a popular name here: I think its popularity peaked in the late 1990's and/or early 2000's. Ronja is associated here with the character from the much loved book by Astrid Lindgren. That's why most people (I myself included) picture the bearer of this name as a brave, independent and headstrong girl.
