Phoebe
Hey everyone (: What are your thoughts on the name, "Phoebe?"
I ask because yesterday my neice came over and I heard her saying it. I have no idea where she herself heard it (she's 3 lol) but now the name has been recently on my mind. The name has been on my PNL so I obviously like it though I wouldn't ever use it. One reason is because my family used to have this adopted cat named that and oh my gosh, was she demanding when it came to feeding. Makes me think of Phoebe "Feed-me" far more. Though if I wanted to actually use it, I would probably have it as a middle.

I love Phoebe! It was on my Top 10 a while back, even. Others on BtN have commented on infantile qualities, and while I see how the "ee" sounds can seem childlike, I still think Phoebe looks (only this spelling!) and sounds elegant. The combos I'd gone back and forth between were Phoebe Eloise and Phoebe Joanna.

I like Phoebe Joanna, because it flows better imo.

Strongly dislike. I don't like the way it looks or sounds. Reminds me of the word feeble too.

Phoebe is one of my very favorite names. It was on our list when we had Lucille and it's the only name from that list (besides Lucille) that I haven't tired of in the past 4 years. I still think it's just as spunky while elegant as I did when first discussing names summer 2013. I don't think I'll ever tire of it. I hope to convince someone in my life to use it someday.

It's always sounded silly and unattractive to me. It looks better than it sounds. FEEE-BEEE. No, thanks.

Make me think of a sweet little bird flitting about without a care in the world or a thought in its head. It’s A nice name, but I wouldn’t necessarily associate it with strength or intelligence.

UPDATETurns out that this "Phoebe" is a saint Bernard some woman gave to my sister and her family. Can't wait to meet her (: Heard she's very friendly which is definitely a plus.

Basically, I don't like this name at all, as well as Daphne; neither the ph-oe-be look nor the sounding.
By the way, least of all our German "modern", slightly foolish version --> Fibi
(Probably that's why)

I love it but it's too popular for me to use

Ditto. Super cute but far too popular.
