Mackenzie on a boy

Much better on a boy but even better left as a surname.
Um.......no.
It is nicer on a boy, especially if it's a family name.
No
It's an ugly name either way.
It's an ugly name either way.
It makes sense on a boy, I think. Mac- means "son of," so it's more suited to men than women etymologically. I also don't think gender is that important with naming. Gendering names is arbitrary and socially constructed, and really every name can be genderless.
I like it more on a boy.
If it's a family name, it's fine.
I know a college student go pulls it off very well. He has a strong Irish & Scottish family heritage which helps!
I actually think it's better on a boy than a girl, but since it's become popular as a girls' name, I can't help feeling it's not a good idea to give it to a boy.
I like it alright on a boy, although unlike most of the people in the comments below me I like it alright for a girl, too. I went to middle and high school with a guy named Mackenzie and I remember vividly on the first day of sixth grade being unable to tell if he was a boy or a girl for some reason? And thinking... okay I just need to see what his name is. And it turned out to be Mackenzie so I still didn't know! And of course he ended up being a guy. He went by Mac. And he's the only male Mackenzie I've ever known but also what makes me feel like this name is usable on a boy.
Better than on a girl.
Definitely better on a boy.
I like it. It's definitely better on a boy.
