Lauren and Caitlin
If you met very young sisters named Lauren and Caitlin nowadays, what would you think? What do you think their siblings would be named?

I'd think that their parents are stuck in the 90s and/or that they were the very popular, preppy types in high school.Lauren and Caitlin definitely have a brother named Ryan and another sister named Hayley.

I wouldn't think much of it. There is a bit of an 80s vibe, but Lauren at least seems timeless to me. It was most popular in the 80s but there are well-known older Laurens (like Lauren Bacall). Laura would be more "timeless," but I don't see why Lauren can't be used today.

I'd think Lauren was a little dated but Caitlin is timeless (especially with that spelling. Katelyn would be dated but Caitlin isn't, and neither are as dated as Lauren). Almost any other "Laur-" name would work and not be dated... Laura, Laurel, Laurana, Laurena, Laurien, Laurian... pretty much anything but Lauren (80's-90's) and Laurie (old name, definitely a mom or a grandma). Even Loren is better; it sounds the same but it's a lot less dated. I think of Loren as a bit more masculine but the only one I've ever met IRL was female and around my age (born in the early 90's or maaaaybe late 80's. Like very late 90's.) As a sibset, it makes sense. Both pretty common, popular, conventional names. Siblings I'd expect would be slightly dated common names and a few more classic names, nothing super frilly.
Ashley
Kelsey
Megan
Taylor
Rose
Tegan
Jessica
Jenna
Sara
Mariah
Jessa
BeccaOkay so those are all sisters. As for brothers... idk, probably just some basic names. The name equivalents of uggs and pumpkin spice lattes. Again, ranging from classic to dated but all common.
Michael
Aidan
James
Jason
Lane
Jackson
Luke
Kyle
Daniel
Isaac
Derek
Liam
Jordan (this would work for a sister too)
Dylan
Avery
Jonah
I'm basically picturing this as a family of basic high school kids. Caitlin is the one that would redeem the sibset in any case lol

I would be surprised if they were under 15 years of age - those names both feel very 90s (I'm a 90s kid), but they do sound like sisters. If they were the younger two kids, I'd imagine their older siblings being Brandon, Andrew, Allison "Ally", or Nicole. If they were the older two, I'd think their younger siblings would be Aidan (or Jayden), Ryan, Madison, or Hannah.

I actually know a four year old Lauren and when I first met her it really took me aback. It's a nice name though. Her brother's name is Ben. Caitlin is nice too.. Caitlin could be a girl who is extremely popular just because she goes out of her way to be nice to everybody. It's got good vibes!Perfect sister name would be Megan. Or any of the 80s-90s girls names that were really popular and ended in n. Morgan, Erin, Shannon, Allison.

I would think the names were somewhat dated and they belonged in my generation, but it wouldn't be too surprising. I still see a number of young Caitlin's and Jessica's in particular.Siblings would include:Justin
Brendan
Allison
Megan

I really like both names, they're very... comfy and nostalgic? But classic-ish. I'd be pleased to hear them on little girls. I'd name siblings things like Allison, Kathryn, Nicholas, and Charles (Charlie).eta: wait, I would hope there wouldn't be a Caitlin and Kathryn in the same family. ha. Swap that for Maureen. Or Erin.

I like both names, and wouldn't think anything in particular if I encountered a pair of little girls named Lauren and Caitlin. (I would probably wonder how Caitlin was spelled since there's so many different spellings of it.)I guess I'd figure they'd have a brother named Dylan or Josh or maybe Alex, and a sister named Madison or Brianna or possibly Alyssa.

I don't like Caitlin. I always think of an aggressive, sweaty, soccer girl.Lauren is OK. Classic. But honestly, I haven't liked most of the Laurens I've met.Siblings:
Sarah
Rachel
Hannah
Paige
Ashley
Michael
Joshua
Troy

My name. I'm Catalina with half my family and Caitlin with the other half. These are THE most common names in my age bracket/social group in the US. It was a little weird for me, actually, because in the UK and Ireland Caitlin is much less common and more traditional, and often pronounced similarly to Cathleen (with the breathy Irish T sound instead of a TH), at least in the part of Ireland my grandparents are from (Cork/Cobh). And then I came to the states and was like, OH. There's eight of us in my class. Anyways, I like Caitlin a lot but I regret how popular it is in the states. At least in Europe it is rarely spelled any other way. Lauren is boring for me and I have a lot of negative experiences with Laurens in general. However, I love Laura. I would expect siblings to be:Erin
Shannon
Kelly
Audrey
Tess
Tessa
Bridget
Claire
Robin
Jocelyn
MeganLuke
Rory
Daniel
Joseph
Sullivan
Wesley

I'd think the names are on their way to being dated....and also that they're boring due to their former popularity. I'd think the parents should have found fresher alternatives. Also, that they are too matchy for siblings because of the identical-sounding final syllables.Siblings:Amanda
Megan
Nicholas
Andrew

Hi Martha !!!I dislike both.
I guess that siblings are Robert or Cynthia.

I would think there names were dated. But they're good names so it doesn't bother me. A sister would maybe be Rebecca or Natalie. A brother David or Cameron.

I'd think the names were a little dated, Lauren more so than Caitlin. I'd expect their siblings to be named something like Megan, Chloe, Georgia, Matthew, Callum or Daniel. Not really related, but the oldest Lauren I know is now in her 70s. I was surprised to hear the name on someone of that age.
