Hi Foxgloves!!!
Here in Italy we have the form Ester (EH-ster).
I agree with you: I've never heard the th sound in Esther neither by an English-speaker person.
Among these three my pick will be Irene (ee-RE-ne).
I like Esther but I prefer Ester.
