i'm a lesbian, so if i (and so my future wife too) used Sappho, we'd look like some awful sitcom joke, and the kid would never hear the end of it... yet it's also temping to use as a joke against straight people who can't handle someone being *too* gay, as well as a celebration of ourselves...also in the lgbt community, there's a current trend of people trying to make the word "sapphic" a thing, to refer to both lesbians and bisexual women, and some people hate it, while others exclusively use that word.
i'd still use it over Dido though, because it sounds like...yknow, that word...also the meaning is so depressing. imagine looking up your name and it's THAT story...
