Lois
I've noticed this name is somewhat popular in England and Wales right now. What do you think of it?http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/87410

Old lady in the US and not showing any signs of a comeback. Yet I prefer it to Louise. But it does have a funny comment: "My youngest daughter is named Lois and I think it is a lovley (sic) name. It suits her down to a 'T' - she was born prematuly (sic) due to me carrying her so low so Lois was the ideal name."

Superman's girlfriend, Lois Lane. I can only think of the actress Margot Kidder playing the character in the original movies.

LolAlong the same vein, when I was 7 I wanted to get a basset hound and name it Lola because their short legs keep them so low to the ground.

Because it's the name of the wife/mom characters in Family Guy and Malcolm in the Middle, it sounds like the name of a character from a irreverent sitcom.

This was my grandmother's name, so I always get an elderly woman vibe from it. So, it's kind of surprising to me personally because it's not a name I'd expect to see on a little girl.
