I'm really not very fond of either, but I think I would choose Ruth. It's a classic name in Sweden (although the old spelling Rut is more common) and has gained some new popularity recently. Rhoda is rare here. It would work, but I'd choose Ruth anyway.

Ruth. I don't care much for it, but I find Rhoda ugly. It's kind of close to Rhonda, which I hate.

Ruth. It's not pretty, but it's less dated than Rhoda and I do like names that end in -th, so the sound is a little less awful than Rhoda.

Ruth, definitely. Rhoda feels really old, whilst Ruth is more old-fashioned.

Ruth easily. Rhoda is clunky and dated, Ruth is a classic and I like the sotry of Naomi and Ruth.

Ruth. It's a fantastic name, a fave of mine, as the story of Ruth in the Bible is one of my fave stories.

I really don't care for either but I guess I am choosing Ruth. When I pronounce it correctly it's sweet and down to earth although I can only picture an elderly woman or a young girl dressed in old fashioned clothing. Problem is like half the time I have a hard time pronouncing Ruth, it's just much easier to say Roof. But inspite of that I still prefer it to Rhoda, which just sounds like the word road with an -a tacked on the end.

I'd happily use Ruth IRL. It's elegant, simple, familiar but never over-used and I regret the fact that it gets so little love. I know precisely one Ruth - in her 30s - and that isn't good enough.

Rhoda ... not really. Even the Beach Boys, loving cars and therefore roads, chose Ronda instead!

If I had to I would choose Ruth just because it conjures a sweet girl I knew in high school.

Ruth! the biblical Ruth is a wonderful namesake, she was a very brave and faithful woman.

Since it is one of my names, Ruth, plus I don't like Rhoda much for some reason, its seems a bit short.
