I would go with Rupert. I have a strong dislike of both, but I associate Edgar with the butler from The Aristocats.
Rupert sounds doofy, but I like ru- names and -ert names.
Edgar just sounds stodgy, and frankly, I don't comb my kids hair with enough skill or precision to have one.
