It's awkward somehow, but not bad.
A close friend of mine has it as a middle name & she doesn't like it at all, but it sits weirdly with her first name, which also begins with a B.

yes, I know a few Belindas. I went to school with one. My stepfather has a relative named Belinda, but she goes by her middle name which is Jean.
And there's a pair of twins at Valerie's last school named Brenda and Belinda.

I've only known one person named Belinda. Actually, her name was Jennifer Belinda and for the longest time, I couldn't figure out why her parents called her by her mn since I felt Jennifer was a much prettier name. Turns out, her parents were right in calling her by the less common name.

I can't say I have an opinion one way or the other about a person named Belinda. We cheered together. She was a sweet, funny girl who was dark complected and had long dark hair. She didn't go by any nns. I suppose my impression of the name is a favorable one. I do find the name a tad less dated than the similar Melinda although I do think Melinda is a more attractive name.

It's very clunky to me and I like Melinda much more. Melinda seems pretty and elegant, and Belinda seems hulking and as I said, clunky. It's funny the difference one letter can make.
