Buffy?????

I've never personally known someone named Buffy. But there is a person on one of the Animal Cops shows(Miami, I think), who goes by Buffy, even though her name is Deirdre.
My Grandma also had a cat named Buffy who was evil and the only cat ever really in the family.
Personally, I would never use the name Buffy, as it will always be associated with the evil cat and the tv show for me.

No. But,it was a big name for Valley Girls in the 1970's and 1980's.
Pop culture is how I know.

I would never name my daughter Buffy. I loved the show but sorry it's a laughable name. I did have a dog named Buffy though.
Even as a nn for a Elizabeth it's not great. And if I were an Elizabeth being called Buffy, I'd put a stop to it.
My dad used to make comments that Buffy was a super snooty, rich snob name. I never really saw it that way.

My mom had a cat named Buffy. I don't like the name (or the tv show).
It makes me think of the term "Biff and Buffy," used to derogate kids in the jock/cheer set at my high school.
