I don't think I know what character you're talking about, sorry. The only famous Bridgets I know of are actually Brigittes: Brigitte Bardot and Brigitte Nielsen.
As for Bridget, it's a cool, spunky name - though I prefer the Brigit spelling, because that's less like "Bridge with a T at the end." I knew a Bridgett (that spelling) in grade school, though, who absolutely HATED her name. And it made an unfortunate amount of sense, though: she was surrounded by Ashleys, Stephanies, Tiffanys, Emilys... girls with softer names; and she thought hers was ugly. (It also probably didn't help that her mother's name was Willow, which is very soft.) I don't know if she ever grew to like her name...
