Re: Madeleine
I have met a few young American Madelines and Madeleines and they were all pronounced Mad-uh-lynn. I'm wondering whether anyone uses the -line pronunciation. I think it was used in the movie that is based on the Madeline books but apart from that I have never heard it as -line. I've heard it a lot and always as -lynn. But I'm wondering if someone met a Madeline who uses the -line pronunciation. It comes from Magdalene which is closer to the -lynn pronunciation, I guess.

Yeah, I'm not sure! I just see a lot of debate about pronunciation with these 2, but I've personally always pronounced them the same...

The Backstreet Boys, in their song "Madeleine", pronounce the title name as Mad-uh-layn. #SorryNotSorry for knowing a little BSB trivia lol actually a lot, cuz I've been a fan for 20 years.
