Imelda could grow on me! It conjures up a strong and intelligent woman who thinks outside the box, and is charming and compassionate. Your description of "grit and grace" hits the nail on the head!
Immy would be a cute nickname as a child, but she could go by Mel later if she wanted a more mature nickname.
From your list I think these combos work well:
Imelda Beatrice
Imelda Charlotte
Imelda Frances
Imelda Guinevere
Imelda Harriet
Imelda Josephine
Imelda Patience
Imelda Ruth
Imelda Sylvie
Imelda Verity
Imelda Violet

I adore the name Imelda. I met one in college and was enchanted with it (the name). Then Imelda Marcos hit the headlines. It was the first time I consciously decided to not let one person ruin a name. Adolf, yes. That one is permanently retired. But Imelda is still very usable to me. I love the heaviness of it and the fact that it begins with an "i." Names based on "Hilda-/-hilda/-hild" are always fun. From your wonderful list I'm especially loving:
Imelda Beatrice / Beatrix
Imelda Bryony
Imelda Caroline
Imelda Constance
Imelda Eugenie
Imelda Eulalie
Imelda Frances
Imelda Guinevere
Imelda Hyacinth
Imelda Ingrid -- Normally repetition of sounds is a no-no for me. But I'm loving it here.
Imelda Josephine
Imelda Juniper
Imelda Lucy
Imelda Marjorie
Imelda Rosamund
Imelda Saffron
Imelda Sibyl
Imelda Sophie
Imelda Winifred
Imelda Xanthe
I would suggest some of my own but you've cornered the market. Imelda Cleo, Imelda Consuelo, Imelda Blythe, Imelda Sonnet? :0)

Imelda Sonnet is sublime. I need to stop shying away from honoring Sonnet as a name.
Imelda Consuelo, Imelda Blythe, and especially Imelda Cleo are truly winsome.
I thought of some others:
Imelda Aurélie
Imelda Bethsabée
Imelda Cateline
Imelda Chloris
Imelda Coralie
Imelda Georgine
Imelda Jorunn
Imelda Lalage (Lalage is tragically underappreciated.)
Imelda Leontine
Imelda Lucrèce
Imelda Magali
Imelda Marianne
Imelda Mercy
Imelda Ruby
Imelda Ségolène
Imelda Signy
Imelda Venus

And I raise you an Imelda Thisbe, Imelda Isabeau, Imelda Liliom and Imelda Godelieve. C'mon sport. Let's see what you've got. (I might have to leave soon so forgive me if I don't see any response until tomorrow.)
P.S. The Lalage tragedy continues.

I don't love Imelda, it reminds me of the words "meld," "weld," and "melt," so it seems sort of strangely industrial to me. Without that association though, I can see it having a sort of eccentric, old-fashioned charm.
I do really like these combos of yours:
Imelda Beatrix
Imelda Bryony
Imelda Eugenie
Imelda Frances
Imelda Josephine
Imelda Lilias
Imelda Rosalie
Imelda Rosine

Wow, now I'm envisaging an eccentric grandmother who's an antiquarian by day and a welder by night. Nice!!
Lol!!
