Lauren
I know I've posted about this name before but I just can't ever settle on an opinion.
On one hand, I think it's totally basic. Like generic pumpkin spice latte girl. But on the other, I think the sound is so pretty and it's almost tailored and classic.
I prefer Laura in terms of style but I prefer Lauren in terms of sound, if I had no associations with the name.
WDYT of Lauren?

I definitely think it's one of the most attractive names of its group. I agree with your "tailored and classic" assessment. It seems clean and energetic. Bookish.
I agree with you.
I like Laura because it's timeless and Latiny, but Lauren actually sounds more alive.
Lauren is tailored and classicky ... and tweedy, shrewd, would be glamorous if it tried but it doesn't.
And it's beige. Not quite PSL basic though - that's Ashley, Chelsea, and Megan. It's more like Nicole and Stephanie.

I've always liked Lauren. I don't think it sounds basic. It is sort of tailored and classic. A Lauren is a good friend and always looks like she has her crap together (because she does). How does she do it?!
I agree, they do always look like they have their crap together!!
When I try to hear it with new ears, I like it a lot, but it just seems a bit dated to me and I've known so many - it's tainted.
I pretty much agree. It's super basic and I used to hate it, but when I really think about the sound of it, I like it. I hate how it sounds like "Laren" in some accents though.
I like Loren a lot better, it's like Lauren but unisex and non-basic and it's impossible for it to become Laren.
Although I really prefer Laurien, Laurian, Lorien, Lorian, etc. Also Laurel.

I say Lauren and Loren differently, but I don't say Laren.
Lauren starts with a law sound to me and Loren when a lore sound. Do you say them the same?

Yeah, the "law" thing is what I was talking about with "Laren". Don't like that at all!
Oh I thought you meant Lair with Laren!
Hmm I've always disliked the Loren pronunciation. Haha. Oh well.

It's hard for me to judge it objectively because I'm really tired of it. I've known so many. But I'll try.
I think it's too stuffy and uptight and buttoned-down and in your face preppy.

I don't mind it. I don't love it, but It is pretty.
I do prefer Laura. It's a fave of mine. It's classic, and I love names ending in 'a'.

It's okay. I've known people with the name Lauren before, with neither good nor bad connotations. I like a lot of its variants as well. ETA: I love the spelling Loren.

I really like both Laura and Lauren, but I like Lauren best by a slight margin. It's a modern classic, I think I'd call it. Laura is a true classic, but Lauren's been very popular for a pretty good length of time now. It also makes a very nice middle name.
It's definitely basic and boring, but I think it does have a nice sound. I can understand why it got so popular.
I've been liking Laurent for a male lately.

It's my favorite girl name! I just love how it sounds and how simple it is in every aspect.
I like it. Not enough to use it, but I do. I love Laura.
Lauren is my bete noire. It's REALLY common here, whereas my name, Laurel, isn't.
I don't mind so much when people mishear, but I really get annoyed when I've emailed or written to a person and get the response 'Dear Lauren'. ..
Of the two names I get called more often than my own, I prefer Laura to Lauren
