HelpRe: Perry (m)

Danno used the words stuffy, privileged, and outdated, and I have to kind of agree. That's because, for whatever reason, my first association is from Top Gun. The guy that Charlie is dating when Maverick starts hitting on her is named Perry. We only see him for a brief second, so my opinion is based mostly on how he is described by Maverick, who is obviously trying to talk her out of her date with him, so...I do have this mental image of a stuffy, preppy guy. And of course, the name is dated now.
If I think about it a bit longer, I remember Perry White--Lois & Clark's boss at the Daily Planet. There have been a number of different iterations of him, of course.
And if I think a bit more, I can picture a cute little boy of about 5 years with brown hair. I don't mind it on a little boy, but I don't see it growing with him well.
Also, I don't like how similar it is to Barry.
