Nicknames
I work at a large daycare, and many of the children there have nicknames, some of them used by their parents in place of their given name and others created by their teachers. What do you think of them?
Emily- Emmy (to differentiate from another Emily)
Daniel- Danny
Brec- Brecles (rhymes with freckles)
Sophia- Phia/Fia
Clementine- Clemmie
Tyler- Ty Ty
Josephine- JoJo
Fiona- Fi (pronounced like fee)
Lucas- Luke
Benjamin- Benji
Zachary- Zach or Zachie
Ruksana- Ru (pronounced Roo)
There is also a little girl named America. WDYT?

I don't like Brec, Clementine, Ruksana or America but the rest are the names I find lovely.
I honestly think 'Clemmie' is even worse than the full name

They're mostly pretty typical and unremarkable. Don't Phia and Fi sound an awful lot alike for kids in the same group?
Bric is terrible, and Brecles sounds like a really hard crunchy candy or like very reddish freckles.
I do like Danny though; I've come to kind of dislike Daniel, especially as the full name for everyday use, it seems a bit wimpy.
I really hate Benji, especially that spelling. Ben is so much nicer.

I mostly agree... none of these are particularly groundbreaking, nothing too awful or too awesome.
