Friend BA
Someone I went to school with her first child yesterday, a boy named Otis.
What do you think?
I'm personally pleased. It's not something I would use but it's nice to see something out of the ordinary without it being weird. The only problem I have with it is that it's so close to 'osis' which is a Swedish word for 'bad luck'.
We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.

Otis sounds more like a name for a dog to me. Or, at least some other pet
Otis is a good name, and you hardly ever see it. I'd be tempted to use it myself if I didn't have a bad association with the name.
I still can't help but think of Otis on Andy Griffith Show, even though it was pretty much before my time (but had reruns on as I was growing up). And Otis on the show was a very obese alcoholic, so I wouldn't use it.
I prefer the similar Otto.
