I don't think she was trying to tell you that your opinion isn't valid, at least not in a "you are not important" way. I think she was trying to say "Don't act like your opinion is CORRECT" or maybe "Your opinion is not more important than a black person's". I think everyone has the right to an opinion on a minority's name, but unless you are a member of that minority, your opinion isn't as important as theirs. I, personally, think Sir isn't that great, but it doesn't matter.
